She became Chairperson in 2022, taking over from Adi Godrej, who led the group for over 20 years. Born in 1982, Nyrika was 40 years old when she stepped into this role, starting a new generation of leadership in the group’s 127-year-old history. The Godrej Group is active in 14 major industries, such as real estate, defence, aerospace, FMCG, and appliances, earning more than ₹1.8 lakh crore each year. With Nyrika’s leadership, the group now works in over 90 countries and has more than 30,000 employees around the world.
Adi Godrej, born in 1942, joined the family business in 1963 and played a key part in building the group into a global name. From 2000 to 2022, he was Chairman and helped the company grow fast, especially through Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Properties. He expanded business into Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, with many parts of the group growing at 15% or more every year.
In 2022, he stepped down, and Nyrika Holkar became Chairperson. She is a trained corporate lawyer with experience in business deals and governance. She joined the company in 2017 and worked as an Executive Director before becoming Chairperson. This move showed that the company wanted to keep leadership in the family while also using modern business ideas.
As Chairperson in 2025, Nyrika Holkar is leading with focus on green growth, technology, and diverse leadership. She created a 5-year ESG plan that includes cutting carbon emissions by 30%, growing eco-friendly manufacturing, and making sure 35% of leadership roles go to women by 2027. She supports smart manufacturing, builds ties with global research labs, and invests in IoT and clean energy sectors.
She also made changes in business departments to make the company work better and faster. Under her lead, Godrej Appliances launched over 25 smart products, and Godrej Aerospace won three defence projects in 2024–25 worth more than ₹1,200 crore. At the same time, Godrej Properties stayed among India’s top 5 real estate companies, earning over ₹14,000 crore in bookings that year.

In FY 2024–25, Godrej & Boyce recorded a 12% rise in revenue, and its presence in defence and electronics became stronger. She blends the strength of Godrej family tradition with modern thinking, helping guide the group into its next 100 years.
