The Devanahalli Jain Temple, also known as Shree Nakoda Avati 108 Parshwanth, is a famous Jain pilgrimage site. It is renowned for its distinct architecture comprising 108 small temples and is one of the biggest Jain temples in India. Located close to the airport, it has enhanced the area's charm.
Built over a large land area, the temple has boosted the city’s tourism and has become a top spot for Jains. The area also features a cheerful local market with ample options to shop.
Earlier, a tobacco processing unit stood at this spot in the last century.
Local people say that later, the Karnataka Silk and Filature unit came up here, before India gained independence.
In the late 1990s, the Temple Trust president Rajesh K Jain’s father donated 11 acres of land for building the temple.
Marble and soft stone were brought from Rajasthan for the construction.
Nearly 300 idols were installed inside the temple.
The entire structure stands in one single place, making it grand and unique.
Its special feature is that 108 smaller temples surround the main central temple.
