Shettigere Connectivity
Shettigere connectivity is excellent through all modes of transits; there are well-linked roads, buses, trains and metros. The area is connected by NH-44, which links with the airport, and the Blue line Namma Metro will further improve the connectivity. Several BMTC buses connect to all parts of the city. The area is also connected by the Shettigere Main Road connecting Devanahalli, Hebbal, etc.
Shettigere is home to many facilities, top housing projects and various IT firms. To reach these places, people can easily take any mode of transit and enjoy the facilities. Top upcoming projects like Godrej MSR City are being developed in this area, that are close to the airport.
Shettigere is an ideal place for frequent travellers as it is only 7.2 Km away from the airport. It is close to other research centres and HAL Airport. Its location has many USPs that make it a posh area to live and invest in.
The biggest advantage of Shettigere is its close location to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). It is only about 5 to 9 km away. This means it takes just 10-15 minutes by car via NH 44 and the Airport Expressway. It is a good place for frequent travellers, aviation staff, and NRIs. Shettigere has good road connectivity to other parts of Bangalore.
- NH 44 (Bellary Road): This is the main road connecting Shettigere to Hebbal, Yelahanka, and central Bangalore. Travel time to Hebbal is 30-45 minutes in light traffic. During peak hours, it can take more than an hour. The roads are wide and smooth, except during heavy traffic.
- SH 104: This State Highway connect to other parts of the Devanahalli area.
- Airport Road System: The airport roads, including the trumpet interchange, give signal-free and easy access to NH 44.
- Upcoming Ring Roads:
- Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR): The first stretch is already open. It will connect Shettigere to nearby towns and industrial areas. This helps people avoid the busy city centre.
- Peripheral Ring Road (PRR): Though delayed, this project will link major highways. It will improve connectivity to areas like Whitefield and Electronic City.
- The Namma Metro Blue Line (Phase 2B) will greatly improve Shettigere's connectivity.
- It will connect KR Puram to Kempegowda International Airport.
- Stations like Airport Terminal, Airport City, and Doddajala will be within 2-5 km of Shettigere.
- Some parts may open by late 2026. Full service is expected by early 2027.
- The metro will cut down travel time:
- Shettigere to KR Puram: 20-30 minutes
- Shettigere to MG Road: 45-60 minutes with interchanges
- A metro depot is being built in Shettigere.
- BMTC Buses: Regular BMTC buses connect Shettigere to Hebbal, Yelahanka, and Majestic bus stand. Frequency is low, and travel time is long during rush hours.
- Cabs and Autos: Services like Ola and Uber, along with local auto-rickshaws, are easily available. They are good for short trips or to reach the future metro stations quickly.
